On 17th June 2017, PBC will hold a laser regatta (that is a nautical term for a sailing race). The race is open to anyone. Club boats are available for members of the Piasau Boat Club and affiliated clubs.
The club’s lasers come in various qualities and trimming systems and will be assigned with a lottery system (you can bring your own power pack if you have one). The club has full, radial and 4.70 sails, but a limited amount of each. These will be assigned on a first-register-first-serve basis. The race is open to all levels of sailors and specifically intended to get as many sailors on the water as possible.
PBC members can come to Saturday afternoon training sessions, where Nicole will be available to instruct beginners and share her sailing and racing skills (limited as they may be). We’ll also hold a theory session about the rules of racing and racing tactics. If you’ve always wanted to try racing, but never dared to, this is the perfect opportunity. For (absolute) beginners: start learning now and you’ll be ready in time to join the race.
