Piasau Mini and Youth Rugby 15th September (Season 2018-2019)

A reminder that all are welcome on Saturday mornings to continue playing Rugby games, learning Rugby skills and most importantly having fun, the coaching is FREE and it is open to all Schools and youngsters in Miri, the more the merrier.
(Note the change of timings, we start with the older tacklers at 9am and then the taggers at 9:30am) finishing at around 10:30am for the taggers and depending on the number of tacklers we finish later.
The P100 pitch is booked on Thursday Evening for Touch Rugby all are welcome, and Friday Evenings and Saturday Mornings for Rugby coaching
This Saturday there were 10 Taggers and 7 Tacklers including some from SMK Merbau.
Pierre coached the tacklers with the help from Corne starting at 9am with the Merbau tacklers firstly with a tag game followed by a dynamic warm up, then splitting into two teams firstly to remind everyone about tackling especially low tackling. We played a number tag games in a small pitch 4 versus 4 with the coaches.
There was some good running and passing, keep up the good work.
Certificate was awarded to Aiman for good running and passing
The taggers were coached by Myself with help of the parents.
They started with a warm up game kicking and chase the ball, followed by Bulldogs, then stick in the mud followed by passing in a semi circle, and then we finished with the Peacock game where there were a number of different peacocks to be chased.
The following taggers were awarded a certificate: Yallini Sivaram, Janani Sivaram, and Fauzan Sharul. Well Done to all.

Every Sunday afternoon there is a game day at Curtin University for all, starting at 4pm.
Tenby International School CCA Rugby Taster was on the 5th September at the Tenby School Field and we managed to get through 215 children (103 boys and 112 Girls) in the morning.
Sarawak Rugby Union Presidents Cup 15 a side 22nd and 23rd September in
Bintulu 10s, 13th and 14th October
Baram Trophy Men 15 a side (10 teams) and Women’s exhibition game, held on 10th and 11th November venue Curtin University, plus the KRFM Reunion, KRFM formed in 1977
Schools 7’s Tournament for U14s (Form 1 & 2 DOB 2004) and U16s (Form 3 & 4 DOB 2002) on the 17th and 18th November,
Also help support the Miri Division Rugby Division by registering your School or team and that will entitle you to support from MDRA to enhance the growth of Rugby in Miri.
